Class Announcement

We are proud to announce that Julie Picarello will be here in Bakersfield October 18-19 to teach her Mokume Gane Mixed Media workshop. We are very excited about this opportunity to introduce our new guild to the polymer clay world and to share this wonderful instructor with others not in the guild.

Wow, what an exciting guild meeting

we had yesterday. There were a couple new clayer’s (welcome Debra, Charlene, and Rose) that were absolutely like kids in a toy store. During show and tell their eyes kept lighting up and I am not sure I have ever heard as many “ooooooo’s” as I did yesterday. It was so fun watching their faces light up as we shared a couple techniques with them. We also did drawings for goodies from Rings-n-Things, which made the new folks happy happy happy!

We then spent the last 90 minutes playing with Studio by Sculpey donated by Polyform. I am not sure I like it or not. I spent most of my time chutting shares of all the colors for every one and didn’t get much time to play with it. That will be my goal this week.

I also took pictures of the show and tell, plus folks claying. Soon I will be getting the images up in a gallery here. Minutes will go up soon, I promise

Welcome to the Bakersfield Polymer Clay Guild Homepage

We are a group of artistic people who love to create using polymer clay and other accessories to create sculptures, jewelry, altered art, and home decor. We are located in Bakersfield, California. Our group started small, with 4 regular people coming to meetings and now we number ten. We keep hoping to grow bigger and share our love of polymer clay. We meet the third Saturday of every month at The Bead and Yarn store, 7701 White Lane, Bakersfield from 10am to noon (or later if we are having fun) The meetings are open to anyone who wants to create with polymer clay even if you haven’t touched it yet.
